It’s crazy how life can change so fast, whether it’s by chance or by choice. I have decided to grip the steering wheel of my life a little tighter and make a big turn.
First and foremost, I just completed my MBA which took me 18 months total to do. It doesn’t feel real yet since I have not received my diploma, but I have a feeling once I have that piece of paper in my hands I will feel the sense of accomplishment that I should be feeling. It’s hard to believe that I have been going to school straight through since I started preschool, and for the first time in my life I can confidently say I will not be attending any more school in the future (though I know I will be taking my share of continuing education classes).
Next up, and the big point of this blog post, is the fact that I just sent my notice in for my medical device sales full time job. They did not need me to finish a full two weeks like I gave notice for, so as of this weekend I will officially be fully self-employed. The main reason that I decided to get done is because I want to focus on my real estate career full time, and I was unable to really dive into it while having a full time job. Real estate excites me for a variety of reasons, and it definitely helps that you get to be your own boss. I believe I have that same entrepreneurial blood like my dad and Papa. With my daughter coming into this world in June, I want to be the best mom I can be. For me, that means having the ability to stay home with her as much as I can, but also not making my career take a backseat. I believe that my new path will give me the flexibility and fulfillment I desire from a career.

I’m very excited to see what this new journey brings, and it is definitely like I said in the title, a huge leap of faith. Not having a guaranteed paycheck, work provided health insurance plan, 401k, etc. is scary to think about, especially as an expecting mama, but it is a risk that I have taken and am extremely excited to be taking. There are so many things that I would like to add alongside my offerings as a real estate agent as well, so stay tuned for those in the future. At the end of the day, your happiness is the most important thing in life, and I am excited to do something that truly makes me happy.
